Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. They are designed with an acrylic base to fit over the ridges, with false teeth (upper or lower). Built-in metal ‘clasps’ are used to keep the dentures attached to the gum, holding them in place when you bite down.
Dentures, like some other dental procedures, are not a one-size-fits-all approach. Dentures come in many colours, sizes, and shapes to give you a natural, healthy smile. Dentures have a limited lifespan and may need replacement every 5–10 years.
Our specialist recommends wearing dentures for seniors when all their teeth have been pulled out for better dental hygiene and treatments. At Dental Mansion, we recognize the importance of denture maintenance and strive to make this important part of your daily care ritual as simple as possible.
Complete dentures are a complete set of replacement teeth. Complete dentures are designed to replace all of the teeth in your upper and/or lower jaw. They provide full coverage to replace the natural look of your teeth.
Each appliance features a lifelike colour, durable acrylic construction, and a smooth polished surface that will be comfortable and easy to maintain for you. The acrylic bases fit over the ridges allowing you to eat and speak. These bases form the foundation upon which the dentures are built.
Denture teeth then snap into place on the acrylic bases.
Denture’s treatment takes anywhere between 3-4 appointments for a dentist to complete.
Partial dentures are used to fill in space created by lost/missing teeth. A removable partial denture is a denture for patients with multiple but not all missing teeth. They are advised for patients who cannot go for a bridge or implant due to lack of required teeth to serve as support for a bridge or financial limitations. They replace the function of the missing teeth and prevent additional teeth from being damaged or pushed into an improper bite. Partial dentures complement your existing healthy teeth to maintain proper jaw alignment. Removable partial dentures allow you to eat a full range of foods and grant you freedom to enjoy eating the way you used to. A partial denture can be removed for cleaning and also should be replaced by another partial denture over time. A Partial denture is used in combination with natural teeth and is made to match your natural teeth colour.
Cast partial dentures are used when some but not all of the teeth in an arch are missing. In comparison to removable partial dentures, cast partial dentures comprise of plates and frames which are made of durable, lightweight metals denture base.
They are custom-made to your unique dental profile. Partial plate dentures offer superior retention and will not fall out or slip like some removable partial dentures. They are made to look very much like natural teeth and held in place with clasps or by suction.
An overdenture is a removable partial or complete denture that covers and rests on one or more remaining natural teeth or roots. In this type of prosthesis, retention is taken both from the teeth and the ridges. The tooth supported dentures are made from durable and pliable materials, allowing for comfort and easy maintenance.

Yes, most people who get immediate dentures find them satisfactory. But they may need to be modified after a brief time.
It's not too hard to talk with partial dentures in if they are fitted well. Although you may have some difficulty with full dentures. A slight lisping is likely during the initial days, but you will get comfortable very soon.
Full dentures are not the same as your original teeth, hence it will feel like a foreign object, and that will be irritating at first. Initially, soft foods will be best suited. Once you get used to these, you will be able to gradually start your normal meals. And soon you can eat crunchy and hard foodstuffs like your favourite cookie.
You should keep your dentures clean to avoid having fungal growth. You can clean them thoroughly at least once a day, and after eating if you need to. Our dentists will provide a thorough explanation of the same.
It's fine to wear them overnight occasionally, like when staying with family or friends. But it is best to take them out for sleeping to relieve the pressure on your gums and bones.
Dentures can be broken, but they are quite tough. Dentures can break if they are particularly old or, if dropped, they can sustain damage or break in half. If it is minor to moderate damage, it can be repaired. If your denture breaks, contact us right away. But if the damage is beyond repair, a new set of dentures might be needed.
Dentures are made of acrylic resin, which means they will need to be replaced in 5-8 years. As you age, your dentures may need to be realigned with the changing shape of your mouth.
New dentures need to fit well. Even if they do, you need some time to adjust to them. Dentures need about five to eight hours to settle into your mouth after the fitting. The gums need some time to adjust to the appliance in your mouth. The time frame differs from person to person.
An overdenture is a removable denture that fits over a small number of remaining natural teeth or implants. For an overdenture, the natural teeth are prepared first to provide stability and support for the denture.
New dentures may feel uncomfortable and awkward for a few weeks. You may experience minor soreness or irritation. But these problems will diminish and they will become more comfortable as your mouth gets used to them. If these problems persist, talk with us.
Dentures can give you a brand-new smile and improve the appearance of your face and profile. This is where the try-in is critical so you can see yourself in the mirror before the denture is finished and make sure you like the look of your new dentures.
